Avoid checkbox marketing

Avoid what Brendan Hufford calls “checkbox marketing.”

Checkbox marketing is what it sounds like: marketing that checks a box.

– Posting on social media every day
– Publishing a blog post every week
– Sending a newsletter every month

It’s not that you shouldn’t do those things. But if you’re just doing them to do them, then they’re probably not going to be effective.

One way to think about checkbox marketing is to ask yourself, “What would happen if I didn’t do this?” If the answer is nothing, then it’s probably not worth doing.

Instead, focus on things that will make an impact.
