How to show up in AI search results

The way people are using the internet to search for information is changing. 

Previously, most people would search on Google, which is why you hear so much about search engine optimization (SEO). Now people are using AI tools like ChatGPT instead.

There’s even a new term called generative engine optimization (GEO) for AI-powered search engines and generative AI models.

The good news is that AI search isn’t that different from regular search. If you show up on Google, then you’ll likely also show up on ChatGPT.

With that said, there are a few things you can do to optimize your therapy website for AI search. 

If you’ve used ChatGPT, then you know the responses tend to be in bulleted lists with quick and valuable information. 

This means you should write “AI-friendly content” with lists, short sentences, and descriptive subheadings. You should also write in a conversational tone. Use clear and concise language. 

Finally, if you have a “How did you hear about us?” question in your intake form, then you may want to consider adding “ChatGPT” so you can track referrals from it.
