Why your traffic from Google Search may be down

If you’ve noticed a decrease in traffic to your website recently from Google Search, you’re not alone. 

The Google March 2026 core update was a major update focused on prioritizing original, unique content over repetitive, AI-generated content. 

It heavily impacted local service sites. Nearly 80% of top-three results shifted, and almost one in four top-10 pages fell out of the top 100, according to SE Ranking data.

Focus on building Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-E-A-T).

This includes optimizing your Google Business Profile and reviews. It also means avoiding low quality, AI-generated content on your website.
